Sports Massage Therapy
My experience working in the fitness industry ignited an interest in the importance of mobility and the role that sports massage therapy plays in training of all kinds.
I therefore decided to study Sports Massage Therapy and I currently hold a Level 3 Sports Massage Diploma with VTCT.
The main purpose of sports massage therapy is to help alleviate the stress and tension which builds up in the body’s soft tissue during physical activity.
It is used to help prevent injuries, to prepare the body for athletic activity and to maintain it in optimal condition, and to help athletes recover from workouts and injuries.
Sports massage is however not just for sports people or athletes. It can be a very effective treatment for anyone, for those working in physically demanding jobs or even those sitting at a desk all day in an office. Occupational, emotional and postural stress may produce similar characteristics to those suffering from sports injuries so sports massage therapy can be beneficial to many people whatever their sporting abilities.
There are three basic forms of Sports massage – Pre-event massage, Post-event massage and Maintenance massage and all three are available here at Calon Lan Sports Massage
All three massage forms are explained below however please get in touch so that we can discuss which form of massage would suit you best and therefore when would be the best day or time for your massage. The timing and form of massage will vary based on your requirements, your training and your preparation for a competition or an event.
