Looking for a healthy treat as a substitute for the classic mince pie or Chocolate Log this Christmas?

Well these delicious Christmas treats might just be the answer your looking for! Instead of flour, sugar and butter I have used healthy alternatives such as black beans, agave nectar and coconut oil!

They are really delicious and won’t have too much of an impact on your waistline! Substituting these for all those unhealthy treats will certainly help you beat the bulge this Christmas!

I made these yesterday for our Smash the Fat Christmas Party and I certainly got some great feedback from all the campers!

Bon Appetit!

Ingredients:

1 can cooked black beans, drained

32g unsweetened cocoa powder

76g Coconut oil (melted)

1/4 teaspoon salt

170g agave nectar

3 eggs

2 teaspoon vanilla essence

1/2 cup chopped walnuts, raisins or dark chocolate chips (optional)

Directions:

Grease a 8”x 8”baking tin

In a blender, combine all ingredients except eggs, nuts and chocolate chips.

Blend on low speed, scraping down sides of bowl until smooth.

Whisk the eggs and stir into the blended mixture.

Stir in any additional ingredients (choc chips, nuts, raisins).

Bake in 180 degree oven for 25 mins or until tester inserted in centre comes out semi clean. (If you like a gooey brownie, check on them after 20mins).

Cool in tin on wire rack.  Cut into squares.
